Hobart Beach campground

This is a well-established campsite close to the beach and lake. There are garbage and recycling bins. Each campsite is well defined and there is a large covered common area. The camp surrounds the stone and timber toilet and laundry facility.

Getting there
Closest point to drive and park is on all weather unsealed roads, from there it is via the water to this the campsite GPS: -36.7969, 149.9406 Turn off the Sapphire Coast Drive 14km north of Merimbula onto Bournda Road – there is a signpost pointing to Hobart Beach camping area. Follow Bournda Road to the end. The road turns to dirt at the park boundary. There are signposts to the campsites. The campground is near the lake at Hobart Beach.
You can park a caravan, trailer, or a tent in this campground This is a well-established campsite close to the beach and lake. There are garbage and recycling bins. Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ongoing baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 03 March 2025 to Monday 29 September 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and will take place in:

Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
Beowa National Park
Berlang State Conservation Area
Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
Bournda National Park
Bournda Nature Reserve
Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
Deua National Park

Majors Creek State Conservation Area
Mimosa Rocks National Park
Monga National Park and State Conservation Area
South East Forest National Park
Wadbilliga National Park

Signs will be placed at the entry to baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
