Congo camping area
This campsite is on the southern banks of the Congo River, just where it meets the ocean. The open campsite has no formal spaces marked but there is plenty of room for tents and vans. Enjoy some beach fishing, walking or swimming in the area. There is a small shelter about halfway along the campsite with information boards, and some picnic tables at the far end. There is bore water available on site, but best to bring your own drinking water. Swimming on Eurobodalla Beach is not recommended. There are other swimming areas nearby.

Due to the recent weather event, the following roads in Eurobodalla National Park have been closed due to hazardous road conditions -
– Jemisons Point trail
– Plovers Lane
– Bogola Head Road
– Honeysuckle Road
Roads will be assessed by NPWS staff regularly for re-opening once conditions have improved. In addition, the following beach access points have also been impacted by large swells with damaged infrastructure and are not safe to use for access –
– Beachcombers access stairs
Please follow all directives of NPWS staff and closure signage. Do not attempt to enter these areas. Penalties apply for non-compliance
Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ongoing baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 3 March 2025 to Monday 29 September 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and will take place in:
- Araluen Nature Reserve
- Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
- Beowa National Park
- Berlang State Conservation Area
- Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
- Bournda National Park
- Bournda Nature Reserve
- Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
- Deua National Park
- Eurobodalla National Park
- Kooraban National Park
- Majors Creek State Conservation Area
- Mimosa Rocks National Park
- Monga National Park and State Conservation Area
- South East Forest National Park
- Wadbilliga National Park
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Safety alerts: Bingi Dreaming track – Closed and open coastal lakes and lagoons
Bingi Dreaming track crosses openings to several Intermittently Closed and Open Coastal Lakes and Lagoons (ICOLLS). Openings of these lakes and lagoons are often unpredictable and can be quite dramatic. Please be aware that although lakes are usually only open for short periods (weeks), they can be impassable when open.
The Coila Lake opening is at the southern end of Bingi Dreaming track. Please check if this lake is open before you set out. If the opening is impassable, you won’t be able to access the village of Tuross to complete the walk.
