Roadworks will be underway on roads surrounding Blackman and Waalay campgrounds from Wednesday 15 May to Thursday 1 June 2024. Works will be undertaken from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
The road may be uneven and slippery during this time. Drive safely and follow the directions of roadwork signs and NPWS staff.

Full and partial road closures in Blackman Campground on Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15, and Friday 17th May 2024
Closures of up to 1 hour between 11am and 3pm each day.

Closed areas: Section of Pincham trail to Grand High Tops closed due to rock fall hazard
The Breadknife walk (Pincham trail between Dagda shortcut turnoff and the Grand High Tops summit) is closed until further notice due to rock fall hazard. Do not enter the area.
Detour to Grand High Tops summit is via Dagda shortcut. Penalties apply for non-compliance. For more information contact the Warrumbungle National Park Visitor Center on 02 6825 4364.
Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ground and aerial baiting program
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) carries out continuous ground 1080 baiting in Warrumbungle National Park for the control of foxes. Meat baits and canid pest ejectors (CPE’s) containing 1080 sodium fluoroacetate poison are laid in the Park north of Timor Road/John Renshaw Parkway. In addition to this, an aerial 1080 baiting program is also carried out every six weeks to reach inaccessible areas also north of Timor Road/John Renshaw Parkway.
All baiting locations will be identifiable by signs.
Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW national parks and reserves. Pets and working dogs may be affected, and 1080 is lethal to cats and dogs. Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
This program protects the endangered brush-tailed rock-wallaby. For more information, contact the NPWS Castlereagh area office on 02 6843 4000.
